Blog #1 First day of the job
I Work at Stone Brae Elementary School. My first day was on a Friday because i had to have my medical records for the school that I work at. My baby brother goes to this school. His name is christian, he may be good but his class that i help in are bad. The first day that i went they all stopped and stared at me like i was weird or something. The little girls in the classroom stared calling me their sister which freaked me out i was scared for my life. I had to grade test and help the kids with their math and english. The kids loved me and they showed that by jumping all over me. But I love kids so what can i say.
Blog #2 second day of the job
The second day was even more hectic because every time the kids saw me they wanted to say hi and chase me around the school. They love to jump on me. I had to help the kids with their math which i did not understand because they learned something different then what i learned in school. Plus their school is like college bound but for seven year old's. As soon as the kids got their class work they would ask for help from me. I played with the kids during their break time because i could not stay in the class room. I kept the kids on their toes about their work.
Blog#3 third day of the job
My third day I had to decorate the class room which was really fun. I felt like a kid again but the kids seemed very distracted by this. So i had to sneak and do it so the kids would pay attention to their work and not me. I helped the kids work with shapes and did a study and group with the kids that needed extra help with their math and vocab. Once I helped them with their math and vocab they understood what it was that they had to do. I learned some new things about math which surprised me.

What i am thinking about doing for my project is an atr project for the kids based on the lack of creativity and art that I have seen at the school. This will teach the kids about the colorwheel and what colors make what. This will also help the kids show their creative side. The kids wil be expressing what they are thankful to have through art. I am not really excited to do this project I am just glade the kids have a chance to express themselves at an early age. I wiil have the kids create cologes based on the holidays and create patings expressing what their thankful for and express what the holidays mean to them and they will make cards for their parents to give as a present during christmas.

Today I helped the kids with their math and vocab. My mentor talked to me about making sure that I had everything I need to do my project every single tuesday. .We talked about do the project on certain days so that it would not interefear with her classroom learning. This was also to make sure that I did not feel rushed put spaced it out to were I would have enough time to finish in a timely manner. I have set up times to do my project like during their recess time or even some of their lunch. The project will be statrted on november 15th.

The leadership skills that I have used the most are thinking critically, conplete project effectively, communicate productively and creative expression. Thinking Critically I have used to figue out what was it that the kids at the school had the least of. Also what was it that the kid swanted the most of out of this experience with me. With completing projects effectively I have taken my time incomlpeting each part of my project I have finished the first part of my project. With the communicate effectively I am teaching the kids what my previous art teachers have taught me. But I am taeching the kids in a way rto where they understand by asking them questions afterwards about what they have learend and did. My mentor usues all the leardership skills because she is a teacher and she has to make sure that her kids are understanding what she teaches. She also has to communicate in a way that the kids are able to teach others with out her help.

I do not think that I have learned any thing from this experience so far. The challenges I had to face wer being able to have people listen to instead of me listening to them for a change. I had to learn second grad math and school work all over againg which is challenging because the things they are learning was not what I learned in second grade. I am trying to balance t

But I can say that I will start to take things and life more seriously a nd try to take on more resposibility. My project is mainly devoted to art and expressing yourself through creativity. This WLE was a chance for me to help childern have more self confidence and to be more respectful of one another inside and outside of school. I think what I do at my WLE is important because the kids have gotten better at math and their vocabulary and learning might even be fun for them now. The choices I make in the future are based off of the responsibility I have leaned at my WLE.

The process that I had to go through to get an internship were, being able to find one that i was interested in, call them up by folowing a script that I had made the first time I did this. I asked them if they were interested in having an intern and if yes, I had to schedule an interview with them. The most effective way to do this processs is to find a place that you like and will stay at in te long run. Also start looing a head of time and if possible start your hours earlier. As a result of my WLE , I think being a professional is being a responsible and profesional adult in the work world. A person should take responsibility for her or his actions at all times. If you do not know something do not be scared to ask for help because it is your responsibility if you mes up.

Today I painted with the kids. The painting is a part of my art project , the kids had to paint sometthing that reminded them of christmas. I switched the what the kids where doing from painting to magazine cologes. The kids really love th eart that i am teaching them. I have become more confident in my self and my teaching abilities. I am not afarid to take charge like i wa slast time whaen i worked with childern. I can say that my workplace is ok and it is a learning experience.

I wil be happy to finish up my WLE and say my last goodbyes to the WLE until college that is. I wiil take things seriously in the future and for now on. This whole WLE has taught me that life is taken for granted. People are not always able to do what they love in life because they do not have those chances or they never took them. thanks to The WLE I am closer to my dreams whether iI see it or not. I want to thank my school for this chance.
